The F-1 visa interview is short (usually 2-3 minutes). The officer has already read your file. They just need to confirm you are a genuine student.
Question 1: Why this university?
Do not say 'Because it is ranked #1'. Say: 'Because Professor X is researching Y, which aligns with my goal to do Z.' Be specific.
Question 2: Who is funding your education?
Be direct. 'My father, who is a [Job Title] at [Company], earning [Amount].' Have the bank statements ready.
Question 3: What are your plans after graduation?
The safest and most honest answer for an F-1 visa is: 'I plan to return to India to work in the growing [Industry] sector, leveraging my US degree.'
The Golden Rule
Be confident, be brief, and tell the truth. Do not memorize a script. They can tell.
